FAQ

Q. Will the patch fit me?

A: It is nearly impossible to make one patch that fits everyone the same, except maybe badly ;) ...and there are a bunch of those on the market. The quick answer to this is "Hopefully".  There is no one patch available anywhere (yet) that will fit everyone the same. One of the things that makes these patches sweet is I have been working hard to find that perfect fit and I am proud to say, these patches will fit most people nicely.

Q: I would like to donate again. Where did the donations option go?

A: First, let me say thank you. It has always been odd accepting gifts. I did add a page for donations

Q: How do the Strapless patches stay on?
A:The strapless patches come with a skin safe, double sided magical spell made specifically for skin application. Check the instructions in your package.

Q: How do I clean my Sweet Eye Patch?
A: Leather backed patches? Use a soft cloth and a bit of soap and water. Just a little though, you want the cloth to be just damp, not soaked. Then wipe the patch gently in one direction. Dry completely before wearing the patch again.

Drive 3.0 patch just run it under some soap and water. Rinse well and let dry.

Q: I wear glasses. Can I still wear your patches?
A: Yes. The patch should be adjusted to fit down off the nose, in the eye socket. Some glasses work better than others. Most patches work best with glasses with non-adjustable nose pads; the ones that are a molded part of the frames. I wear glasses with my patch every day. Please give your patch some time to get accustomed to you and try different positions until you find what's right for you.

Q: Are wood and metal patches safe to wear?
A. Yes. So long as they are built well. Wood and metals have been used as eye patches for ages alongside leather to make the most fashionable of pieces  since there was a need. But as with any eye patch, you should be aware of how your patch is aging with time and use. All patches, including leather and man-made fabrics will deteriorate over time. So, if your patch is starting to show signs of wear, discontinue use and give me a call. In most cases I can repair or refinish an aging patch.

Q: Do you make pirate style eye patches?
A: Arrrggghh!

Q: What size are the patches?
A: It is difficult to make patches that fit everyone the same. Currently I make one size, with the option to get a custom sized shell. After 12 years of design it does seem to fit 98% of people quite well.

Q: How long does it take for delivery? A: I try to ship your patch within 6 years of receiving your order. You will receive an email when your order has been shipped. Once shipped, the delivery times fall into those noted by the chosen shipping company and your choice of shipping priority.

Q: How much does it cost for delivery?
A: Depends on what you buy and where you live. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: I ship almost anywhere. You will see a notice after entering your address if I do not ship to your country. If you get that notice please email me, I may be able to fix it and ship it to you. International orders are not guaranteed delivery, unless we use UPS or FedEx.

Q: Do you ship to APO, BFPO or IPO addresses?
A: Yes I do. Make certain I, and the powers that be have the correct contact info.

Q. Custom printed patches. Can I send any picture for a printed patch?
A. Check the custom page. Keep watch as this may change in the future.

Q: Do you have children's patches?
A: the Drive 3.0 should make them very happy! The strap adjusts down to a very small size

Q: Do you do patches for adults?
A: The patches I make are adjustable to even the largest of noggins. Please visit the "patches" page to see the designs available. The selection is always changing so check back often.

Q: Can I see through your patches?
A: Check back often to see what's new. Check the Shells page for the Mesh shell.

Q: Can I pick a pattern or color?
A: Check the Patches page. Hopefully there is something you like. There is also the custom page that comes and go's.

Q: I found a patch I like on your Facebook page or online that is not shown on your order online page. Can I order one like that?

A: Not at the moment.

Q: Do you custom make patches?
A:  not at the moment. Check back often.

Q: Do you have any patches that are not listed?
A: I will be making custom designs from time to time and will post them on the site.

 -Medical Use

These patches should not be used to replace surgical dressings or patches immediately after surgery. Please consult your doctor before using one of these patches.

-Issues With Your Patch?

Sometimes I mess one up or for some reason the patch may not work for you. I do hope you will be happy with your patches and I will work to ensure any issues are resolved. Should you have a complaint, please contact me so I can fix it.

-Compliments

I will accept all compliments any way you can get them to me. Homing pigeons would be really cool. Or an Owl.

-Shipping Charges & Delivery Times

I ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions. If the checkout page shows a restriction, please contact me so I can fix it.

When you place an order, USPS will calculate your shipping cost based on the options you choose. If you want another shipping choice or carrier like FedEx or UPS please contact me.

Delivery depends on location. The delivery charge within the US is typically around $4 per order. Europe and international destination pricing will vary. I aim to ship your patch within 6 years of receiving payment. Once I have shipped your patch it will fall into the delivery times set out by the post service. For UK orders, normally you would receive your patch within 10 days, but this can take up to 15 days or more if your order gets stuck in customs. I can’t guarantee International orders, as there is no way to be certain it was delivered.  International delivery times vary but are normally within 7-10 days.

If you have a preferred shipper, let me know. I can usually help with that so you can actually receive your patch.

Q: How long does it take for delivery?
A:It's pretty quick now.

Q: How much does it cost for delivery?
A: I try to keep the price of shipping low because I think over-pricing for shipping is wrong. Delivery is around $3 per order within the US, for Europe and international delivery outside Europe the pricing will vary. You will see the pricing on the order-shipping page.

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: I ship almost anywhere. You will see a notice after entering your address if I do not ship to your country. If it says I don't ship to your country, please contact me. I may be able to fix it.

Q: Do you ship to BFPO or IPO addresses?
A: Yes I do.

-Accepted Payment Methods

All orders are processed online. Most credit and debit cards are accepted and will be processed securely through PayPal. YOU DO NOT NEED A PAYPAL ACCOUNT TO PLACE AN ORDER, however you can also pay using your PayPal account if you prefer. Whichever payment method you choose, you will not be charged any additional transaction fees. I can also take orders over the phone. Please see the Contact page for the current phone number.

 -Returns & Refunds

I spend a lot of time making these and I hope you truly enjoy your patch.

Please let your new patch have a couple weeks to get accustomed to you, particularly if this is your first eye patch. If your patch fits funny at first, try moving it around on your eye socket and try different places for the strap as well.

All eye patches will fit everyone differently. Sometimes an eye patch that fits one person won’t fit another person at all. If you think your patch would fit better if it were a different size, please contact me….

* I want you to have a patch you truly enjoy!

Please read this before returning your patch. It can take a couple weeks for you and the patch to get accustomed to each other, particularly if you don't wear it every day and the placement of the patch can take time to figure out especially if you've not worn a patch in the past.

Please contact me before returning your patch. Maybe we can save it.

Also- Consider donating your patch. Unfortunately, due to the nature of an eye patch I cannot re-sale a patch once it has been worn.

Please look for the return address on the carton your patch was shipped in.

You pay the return shipping for the cost of the return.  Best to use a traceable method for your return. You will receive your refund via the same payment method I received it.

I can not arrange for collection of patches from your address, even if the return is due to an error on my part. Contact your postal service. Most have a Pick-UP service.

I will replace or refund orders that have gone missing in the mail but do not consider orders lost or missing until after 30 working days from shipping date for US orders. I will not replace or refund orders where the customer has given me an incorrect, incomplete or invalid delivery address unless it is returned to me by the post office undelivered, so please check the delivery address immediately on receipt of your confirmation email.

****For overseas orders: I can not guarantee International orders, as there is no way to be certain it was delivered. ALSO! Please check with your postal service. Most will have a way to locate your package if lost.

I have the right to refuse replacement of orders at my discretion and may choose to issue a refund instead. Refunds will not include original shipping costs; those are irreplaceable.

Design Variations

Each Sweet Eye Patch is hand-made with care, making each one unique and the patch you receive may vary from the example shown. This may mean that the patch will have a different character from the one shown on the site. The camera I use and the lighting may make the patch look different than it may look in person. I do may best when taking pictures but, I’m a Patch maker not a photographer J
