FAQ

Q. Will the patch fit me?

A: It is nearly impossible to make one patch that fits everyone the same, except maybe badly; and there are a bunch of those on the market. The quick answer to this is "Hopefully".  There is no one patch available anywhere (yet) that will fit everyone the same. One of the things that makes these patches sweet is I have been working hard to find that perfect fit and I am proud to say my sweet patches will fit most people nicely.

If you have a size you think woiuld fit best please let me know and I'll make yours just for you.

You can return your patch any time and send me a note that says "Bigger!" or "Smaller please"  :)

Q: Is the patch easy to put on?
A: Yes: For the strapped patch, place the patch on your head. Then take it off and adjust as necessary. Place it back on to check for fit. DO NOT over tighten - it will drive you mad if you wear your patch too tight!

For the strapless patches please read the instructions that came with the patch. Instruction will also be available on the items listing page.

Q: How do the Strapless patches stay on?
A:The strapless patches come with a skin safe, double sided tape made specifically for skin application. Check the instructions on the item page and on the tape listing in Extras.

Q: How do I wash my Sweet Eye Patch?
A: Use a soft cloth and a bit of soap and water. Just a little though, you want the cloth to be just damp, not soaked. Then wipe the patch gently in one direction. Dry completely before wearing the patch again.

Q: Should I Change the Padding? How Often?
A: YES! If you think the padding looks funny – change it! If it smells funny – change it! Change it before the tape that holds it on gets gummy. It is really important to keep the padding fresh. Check the ‘Extras’ page for padding replacements.

Q: I wear glasses. Can I still wear your patches?
A: Yes. First try adjusting the patch to sit a little away from you nose. Some glasses work better than others. The nose piece may need to be adjusted. The patches work best with non-adjustable nose pads. The ones that are part of the frames. I wear glasses with my patch all the time. Please give your patch some time to get accustomed to you.

Q: Are wood and metal patches safe to wear?
A. Yes. So long as they are built well. Wood and metals have been used as eye patches for ages along side leather to make the most fashionable of pieces. But as with any eye patch, you should be aware of how your patch is aging with time and use. All patches, including leather and man-made fabrics will deteriorate over time. So, if your patch is starting to show signs of wear, discontinue use and give me a call. In most cases I can repair or refinish an aging patch. Check here for some ways to extend the life and comfort of your patch.

Q: Do you make pirate style eye patches?
A: Arrrggghh!

Q: What size are the patches?
A: It is difficult to make patches that fit everyone the same. Currently there is two sizes but if you get your patch and it needs to be bigger or smaller I'm happy to make you anther that will hopefully fit just right

Q: How long does it take for delivery?

A: I try to ship your patch within 6 years ;P of receiving your order. You will receive an email when your order has been shipped. Once shipped, the delivery times fall into those noted by the US Postal Service and as outlined in our terms and conditions.

Q: How much does it cost for delivery?
A: I try to keep the price of shipping low because I think over-pricing for shipping is wrong. Delivery is around $4 per order within the US, for Europe and international delivery outside Europe the pricing will vary. You will see the pricing on the order-shipping page.

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: I ship to almost anywhere. You will see a notice after entering your address if I do not ship to your country.

Q: Do you ship to BFPO or IPO addresses?
A: Yes I do.

Q: Can I order over the phone?
A: YES! Please see the contact page for updated phone listing.

Q. Custom printed patches. Can I send any picture for a printed patch?
A. Currently I don't make the printed patches. Keep watch as this may change in the future.

Q: Do you have children's patches?
A: I can make small sized eye patches that may do the trick. It’s difficult to size for children as their faces are constantly changing. The patches are bendable so try a regular patch and let me know how it goes. I will be more than happy to help with resizing.

Q: Do you do patches for adults?
A: Yes I do. Please visit our order online page to see the designs available.

Q: Can I see through your patches?
A: I have made see-through patches in the past and may bring them back at some point. Keep watch on the site for them.

Q: Can I pick a pattern or color?
A: Ask and you could possibly receive ;)

Q: I found a patch I like on your FaceBook page or online that is not shown on your order online page. How can I order this design?
A: If the design is not shown on the order online page it is no longer available to purchase. I am making custom patches but not taking custom orders. Please see the custom patches page for some sweet new designs. If you like something you see there, grab it quickly; I may not make another one like it!

Q: How can I make payment?
A: You can pay securely online with your credit or debit card or by using your PayPal account. If using a credit or debit card, your card will be processed by PayPal. So YOU DO NOT NEED A PAYPAL ACCOUNT TO PLACE AN ORDER.

Q: Do you custom make patches?
A:  I won't be making custom orders for a while.

Q: Do you have any patches that are not listed?
A: I will be making custom designs from time to time and will post them on the site.

If there are any questions that you have, please feel free to contact me. I will get back to you.

 -Returns & Refunds

Like to return your patch?

Please read this before returning your patch. It can take a couple weeks for you and the patch to get accustomed to each other, particularly if you don't wear it every day. The leather strap will take some time to soften as the oils in your skin work their magic. And the placement of the patch can take time to figure out especially if you've not worn a patch in the past.

Please contact me before returning your patch. Maybe we can save it.

AlsoConsider donating your patch. Unfortunately, do to the nature of an eye patch I cannot re-sale a patch once it has been worn.

Please look for the return address on the carton your patch was shipped in.

You are responsible for the cost of the return if you have ordered the wrong patch or simply changed your mind. It is strongly recommended that you use a traceable method for your return. You will receive your refund via the same payment method I received it.

I will not arrange for collection of patches from your address, even if the return is due to an error on my part. Contact your postal service. Most have a Pick-UP service.

I will replace or refund orders that have gone missing in the mail but do not consider orders lost or missing until after 30 working days from shipping date for US orders. I will not replace or refund orders where the customer has given me an incorrect, incomplete or invalid delivery address unless it is returned to me by the post office undelivered, so please check the delivery address immediately on receipt of your confirmation email.

****For overseas orders: I can not guarantee International orders, as there is no way to be certain it was delivered. ALSO! Please check with your postal service. Most will have a way to locate your package if lost.

I have the right to refuse replacement of orders at my discretion and may choose to issue a refund instead. Refunds will not include original shipping costs; those are irreplaceable.

Design Variations

Each Sweet Eye Patch is hand-made with care, making each one unique and the patch you receive may vary from the example shown. This may mean that the patch will have a different character from the one shown on the site. The camera I use and the lighting may make the patch look different than it may look in person. I do may best when taking pictures but, I’m a Patch maker not a photographer J
